2009 Summer Delegates

Here are some of the things our 2009 delegates had to say:

Clive Lee

University of Hong Kong, School of Law
Hometown: Hong Kong / Toronto

The only real program truly focused on cultural exchange for young leaders covering all aspects, e.g. economy, politics, education, life style, love, etc. You’ll have the chance to interact with all 30 outstanding influential delegates, each with different points of views. It is an inspiring journey of learning from another culture as well as self discovery. IMUSE is a challenging and rewarding program, conducted in the most open, relaxing and enjoyable atmosphere.

Leonid Markel

UPenn, International Studies and Economics

This very well might be the best opportunity you have of truly understanding one another’s mentality and worldview. In sharing your mentality and worldview, you will unintentionally begin to understand more fully yourself and your country.

In the rare occasions when diverse peers share the products of introspection, they reap the priceless fruits of understanding. IMUSE is one of those rare occasions.

Yuanyuan Liu

Zhejiang University, International Business and Marketing
Hometown: Zhenzhou, Henan Province

Two weeks is only a flash in life, however, you will establish life-long friendship with a lot of insightful young people who seek for mutual understanding. People here are unique, passionate and modest, and most excitingly, they know more about your culture than you might expect. They give you an external point of view to examine your own pattern of life from the eye of “the other” -- it’s amazingly cool and definitely meaningful.

Erica Swallow

New York University, International Business and Marketing
Hometown: Paragould, AK

I recommend IMUSE to anyone with an ongoing interest in Chinese and American relations, regarding subjects ranging from politics and business to art and culture. The range of interests you’ll find within the IMUSE delegates is vast and impressive.

The days in IMUSE were a wonder without regret. For me, perhaps the most important thing is not only how wonderful the activities were, but also about how lovely those people are. There were so many "Niu" (fantastic) people in IMUSE, and you never know what kind of "secrets" would be hidden in the modest person beside you; when the two weeks came to an end, those guys would mean one word to you: FAMILY.

Zikai Wang

Believe me, my time with IMUSE 2009 in Beijing was brilliant. Instead of being a formal conference or workshop, the program more looks like forming up a family.

The organizing team was focused, passionate. They bought the best part of Beijing in that summer to the members in the program.
